Working within a specific genre can be a great tool for writers, but it can also make finding a balance between originality and formula more challenging. How do you know when to stick to tradition and when to deviate? This panel of screenwriters on the comedy/tragedy spectrum will discuss why writing within limitations can have its upsides, when to trust your creative instincts, and how to avoid falling into tropes while maintaining the familiarity of conventions.
