My screenplay, Indian Country, made it to the second round. I recently signed a contract to have my novel, on which the screenplay is based, published. I was an Operations Officer with the Defense Intelligence Agency; I served in Iraq with the Joint Special Operations Command. I was also a police officer in New Mexico and a private investigator in New Mexico and Los Angeles. I have drawn on my experience in life to create a story that takes place on the Navajo reservation in New Mexico. It involves terrorism, narcotics, outlaw bikers, and three generations of Navajos. One of them, a Navajo Hitali who is a Vietnam veteran, forms a bond with my protagonist, DEA agent Wayne Kincaid, who served in the U.S. Army's Delta Force in Iraq.
