Amy Talkington is a screenwriter, director, and author. Amy wrote and directed the feature film “The Night of the White Pants” as well as six short films which won multiple awards and played festivals all over the world, including Sundance.

As a screenwriter, Amy has numerous studio projects in development including “Valley Girl,” which is in pre-production at MGM. She is currently writing “The Fierce Rejects” for Universal with Elizabeth Banks producing. Her latest independent screenplay, “The Ice Queens,” which tells the story of Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan, will be presented as a staged reading at AFF 2016.

In the television arena, Amy wrote ABC Family’s “Brave New Girl” and co-wrote “Avalon High,” a children’s movie for which she won a WGA Award.  She is currently developing a project with Working Title/ NBC-Universal.

Amy’s first book Liv, Forever was published by Soho Teen in 2014. It was a Junior Library Guild selection, an Amazon “Book of the Month,” and has been published internationally. She is currently developing it for television.

Originally from Texas, Amy graduated magna cum laude from Barnard College with a degree in Art History and earned an MFA in Film from Columbia University’s Film Division.
