Dan Rosen’s first screenplay was the critically acclaimed cult favorite, “The Last Supper” starring Cameron Diaz, Anabeth Gish, Ron Pearlman, and Bill Paxton. Debuting at the Toronto Film Festival, The Last Supper was a crowd favorite at The London Film Festival, South By Southwest, and Sundance before being released in the United States in 1996 by Sony Releasing. The Last Supper also won the Cognac Film Festival’s Thriller of the year.

Dan’s second screenplay and directorial debut “Dead Man’s Curve (aka The Curve)”, starring Matthew Lillard, Keri Russel, and Michael Vartan, debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in 1998. Described by Empire Magazine as “Sharp, witty, and breathlessly cool”, “The smartest, hippest, blackest comedy thriller of the year” by NME magazine, and “The darkest, most finely tuned comic thriller since Scream” by Maxim, The Curve was released internationally later that year and made top ten lists all over the world.

In 2011, Dan co-wrote and directed the indie comedy “Freeloaders” released by Myriad Pictures.

In 2012 to 2013- Dan was a writer/producer on family comedy television series, “The First Family” which is syndicated throughout the United States and seen on BET/CENTRIX.

His stage version of The Last Supper has played to critical acclaim in Chicago, Durham, New York, Kent, Stockholm, Melbourne, Perth, Madison, and won the award for best new play at Mar Del Plata in Argentina in 2008 before heading for a long run in Buenos Aires. A staged reading will happen in London at the Ambassador Theater  in November 2016 and the first French language production opens in Paris Winter 2017.

Dan Rosen is also a Professor of Creative Writing for the Performing Arts at AMDA-Los Angeles.
