Jake’s debut feature, Don McKay, a darkly comic thriller starring Academy Award Nominees Thomas Haden Church, Elisabeth Shue and Academy Award Winner Melissa Leo, premiered at the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival before its theatrical release in April 2010 courtesy of Image Entertainment.

His second feature, Life Of A King, chronicled the inspirational true story of Eugene Brown, who fresh out of a two-decade long prison sentence started an incredibly successful inner city chess club in Washington D.C. The film, which stars Academy Award winner Cuba Gooding Jr., Dennis Haysbert and LisaGay Hamilton, premiered at the 2013 Los Angeles Film Festival and was released theatrically by Millennium Entertainment. It was subsequently nominated for Outstanding Independent Motion Picture at the 2014 NAACP Image Awards.

Jake recently completed his third feature, Holding Patterns, a coming of age story about a group of twenty-somethings all facing different crossroads in their respective journeys. The film stars Freddie Highmore, Odeya Rush, Haley Joel Osment and Christopher Meloni. It will be premiering at the 2016 Austin Film Festival.

He also co-wrote the screenplay for Crossface, the tragic true story of WWE wrestler Chris Benoit. The film, directed by Lexi Alexander (Green Street Hooligans, Punisher: War Zone) will be going into production in 2017.

Jake was born and raised in New York City but currently lives in Los Angeles.
