Michael McCullers is a comedy screenwriter and director who works in film, television, and animation. His feature film, Boss Baby, starring Alec Baldwin, is in production at Dreamworks Animation and will be released in Spring of 2017. His previous work for DWA includes Mr. Peabody and Sherman, and production rewrites on Trolls, Home, The Croods, and Puss in Boots.

Baby Mama, which McCullers wrote and directed for Universal Pictures, starred Tina Fey and Amy Poehler in their first leading roles. Shot in New York, it premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, and went on to open number one at the box office.

After beginning his career as a writer at NBC’s Saturday Night Live, McCullers made his screenwriting debut with the hit comedy Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, starring Mike Myers and Elizabeth Hurley, and collaborated with Myers on its smash sequel, Austin Powers in Goldmember, which also starred Beyoncé and Michael Caine.

A 1993 graduate of Yale University with a major in English Language and Literature, McCullers studied creative writing with Tom Perrotta and Ved Mehta, and film history with James Shamus.

He currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife and four children.
