Minhal Baig graduated from Yale University in 2012 with a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts. In 2013, she was chosen as a fellow for the first annual week-long screenwriting residency in Las Vegas, hosted by The Black List.

In 2015, she wrote & directed her feature-length directorial debut, One Night, a film about two couples reconnecting over the course of one night at a hotel. The film stars Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect), Justin Chatwin (Shameless), Isabelle Fuhrman (Hunger Games) and Kyle Allen (The Path). One Night premieres at the 2016 Austin Film Festival. 

Minhal wrote & directed Hala, a short film about a Muslim teenager who struggles to reconcile her personal desires with family expectations. The short premiered on Nylon, was chosen as a Vimeo Staff Pick and featured on Short of the Week. She is at work on the feature-length version of Hala.

Her comic SUNSET CLEANERS was published in WOLF #9 (Image Comics), and she is writing her next creator-owned comic, AMERICAN VIOLENCE, with art by Richard Lyons.
